Chocolate Hearts

I love dark chocolate. It’s great because it acts as a dessert but also has a lot of health benefits. It’s almost like a super food. I know it’s hard for some people to get used to it, but now every time I try one of those milk chocolates, I feel dissatisfied.

These homemade chocolate hearts are delicious and free of refined sugars, sweetened only with maple syrup. I like to enjoy them as a guilt free snack as they are also loaded with the benefits of raw cacao and goji berries.

Raw cacao is made by cold pressing cacao beans, so it’s less processed than cocoa powder.  It is high in antioxidants and is also a good source of magnesium, calcium, iron, copper, and zinc.

Goji berries are also packed with antioxidants and have been prominent in traditional Chinese medicine to treat various ailments. It’s a good natural sweetener and I enjoy that added texture it gives to the chocolate.
