Are you craving something sweet? Then try this Persimmon smoothie. It’s easy to make, delicious, and sweet enough to hit the sugar craving without adding refined sugar.

Persimmons are an excellent source of Vitamins A, C and B-complex, manganese, and fiber. They look like tomatoes, but taste like a mixture between mangoes and peaches. Even by themselves, they’re so delicious.  They are in season right now, so enjoy them while you can!

Ingredients:

1 ripe persimmon/sharon fruit (make sure they are soft and ripe)

1-2 large medjool date

1 1/2 cup coconut milk

dash of ground cinnamon

dash of ground ginger

Ice cubes (optional)

Method:

Remove the stem/leaves of the persimmon.  Blend the persimmon and the milk in an high speed blender. Then add the remaining ingredients and blend until smooth. If it’s a really hot day, and you want something extra refreshing, add Ice cubes and pulse for few more seconds. If you find it too thick then add some cold water until you get the required consistency. Enjoy this persimmon smoothie as a snack or dessert!
